Director - Project Management
Aidan joined Compass in 2018 having previously worked alongside Daniel at Hollis. Aidan oversees the Project Management arm of the business and has experience delivering projects across all sectors. Outside of work Aidan enjoys socialising, DIY, keeping fit, walking the family dog and watching sport.

Daniel Leaf
Director - Building Surveying
Compass was founded by Daniel in 2017 after a decade at a leading national building consultancy, where he held a senior role.
A highly experienced Chartered Building Surveyor, he specialises in dilapidations and technical due diligence.
While leading and evolving a modern, forward-thinking building consultancy takes up most of his time, Daniel enjoys unwinding on the golf course, socialising, watching sports, and exploring the stunning North Yorkshire countryside with his two Labradors.

Joe Unwin
Senior Building Surveyor
Joe joined the Compass team in 2022 from a national building consultancy, bringing a wealth of technical knowledge and expertise in Project Management, Contract Administration and Technical Due Diligence. Joe’s experience, alongside exceptionally high standards of client care, has significantly bolstered the project team at Compass.
Outside of work Joe enjoys playing golf, countryside walks with his dog, and running. He is also a keen chef and enjoys sampling the culinary delights of Yorkshires finest restaurants.

Sarah Murch
Business Manager
Sarah is fundamental to the smooth running of the business. Standards, HR, regulation and compliance are pivotal to our operation and Sarah is responsible for developing and implementing procedures and quality controls. Sarah is also responsible for our marketing and business development strategies which tie to our desire for organic and sustainable growth.
Outside of work, Sarah aims to maintain standards at home too! With 3 kids, 1 dog and a husband to manage, something has got to give. Sarah enjoys socialising, family life and outdoor pursuits.

Alan joined Compass in 2025 and brings broad experience gained through both hands on practical roles and national consultancy environments.
